Tunxis Hosts Latin American Music Concert

Latin Spirits will perform  “A Journey Through Latin American Music,” on January 27 at 7 p.m. in the Tunxis Cyber Café.
The program includes Latin American folk songs from the ensemble’s repertoire performed by Gonzalo Cortés on flute, with Lorena Garay, guitar; and Jessica Heller, viola. The performance will feature songs from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela, with a number of other instruments including sikus, quena, charango, cuatro venezolano, and percussion.

The performance is free and open to the public.

Opening Reception for Farmington Public Schools Art Exhibit

Faculty and alumni from the Farmington public schools will have their artwork on display through January 20, 2011 in the Barnes-Franklin Art Gallery. The opening reception is Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
