Tunxis will hold its 42nd Commencement on Friday, May 31 at 6:30 p.m., rain or shine in the Tunxis courtyard.
Graduates should arrive no later than 5:30 p.m. and meet in Founders Hall for lineup and instructions regarding the ceremony. For those graduates who need more information, see the Tunxis Commencement FAQ.

NYC Field Trip to see “En el Tiempo de las Mariposas”

Tunxis students, faculty and the community are invited to attend a non-guided field trip to New York City to see  “En el Tiempo de las  Mariposas,” (“In the Time of the Butterflies”) a play in Spanish, on Sun., May 5 at the Teatro Repertorio Español. Tickets (non-refundable) are $30 and include the play and round trip bus fare from Tunxis. Free English and Spanish subtitle monitors are available at the theater.
Those attending should meet at the bus in the Tunxis parking lot by 7:45 a.m. Passengers will be dropped off at the theater at 138 East 27th Street, and will return on their own to the Teatro Repertorio Español by 2 p.m. for the 2:30 show. Participants will have free time from 4:10-5:45 p.m., and the bus will depart the theater at 6 p.m. for arrival at Tunxis around 8:30 p.m. The Tunxis Humanities Department and Spanish Club are sponsors for the trip.

Careers in the Arts Workshop

The Arts & New Media Department invites Tunxis students to a free “Careers in the Arts” workshop on Friday, May 3, 9 a.m.-12 noon.  The panel will feature discussion by art world professionals including a studio artist, illustrator, photographers, graphic designer, comic book artist and curator who will talk about how they landed their positions and the pros and cons of their fields. Participants will have the opportunity to talk candidly with panelists about what it takes to make a successful career, with facts on career projections, salaries, and other inspiring information.
