Tunxis Community College will offer a new, non-credit Digital Photography Boot Camp Jan. 9-11 for those who want to move past basic snapshots and learn how to take their digital single lens reflex (SLR) cameras off automatic.

The course provides tips and tricks from a professional photographer, including advanced techniques to stop action, how to control what is in and out of focus, how various lighting conditions can affect the shot, lenses and settings, creating moods, and composing dynamic shots. Substantial time will be devoted to hands-on practice during indoor and outdoor photo shoots.

Participants should bring their digital SLR to the class, which will be held at the College’s Bristol facility, Tunxis@Bristol, located at 430 North Main Street. The fee is $169. For more, visit tunxis.edu/cephoto, or call 860.314.4700. To view additional spring non-credit offerings, see the Tunxis Continuing Education spring course schedule online at tunxis.edu/cesched.
