Registration for summer credit courses starts April 1 at Tunxis Community College in Farmington. Almost 150 traditional classroom and online courses are offered in five- and eight-week sessions: May 23-June 27; May 25-July 20; and July 5-August 8.
Students who attend other colleges may enroll in courses at Tunxis and transfer the credits earned during the summer to their baccalaureate or associate degree programs. Students can save an average of $800 or more per course by attending Tunxis for their summer transfer credits.
Among the courses Tunxis offers that transfer directly to meet four-year degree requirements at many colleges are: Accounting, Intermediate Algebra, Anatomy & Physiology, Art Appreciation, Art History, Biology, Calculus for Business & Social Science, Chemistry, Earth Science, English Composition, Macroeconomics, Microbiology, Microeconomics, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Public Speaking, Spanish I & II, Statistics, Sociology, U.S. History I & II, and Western Civilization I & II.

Financial aid is available to those students who qualify, and eligible veterans can use the GI Bill for summer courses.
Continuing education (non-credit) registration is ongoing, for training in professions in need of skilled employees, such as electricians’ license renewal training; registered medical assistant; certified nurse aide; phlebotomy technician certification; patient care technician; pharmacy technician; central sterile supply technician training; and computers. Choose from a variety of courses in career/workforce development; small business; real estate; health and leisure; investment and finance; and personal enrichment; as well as motorcycle safety courses. For continuing education courses, there are a variety of convenient ways to register.
