"100 Days 2010" book cover

Carianne Mack Garside, assistant professor of fine arts and department chair of art and communication at Tunxis Community College in Farmington, announced the release of a new book she edited and published entitled “100 Days 2010.”

The 108-page volume contains a selection of the series of work that 22 of the finishers of the “100 Days” project completed as they engaged in a creative endeavor every day for 100 consecutive days from May 22-August 29, 2010.

Participants, who explored a variety of media including painting, photography, poetry, fiction writing, digital image manipulation, and film, took part in the artistic challenge from as far as South Africa and the United Kingdom while others created work during trips to Cuba and Japan.

Along with Garside, who resides in Burlington, Tunxis faculty and staff featured in the book, listed with town of residence, are: Maggie Carlin (Ducharme) (Collinsville), Steve Ersinghaus (West Simsbury), Kelli Newton Costa (Mount Vernon, NY), Carol Mack (Winsted), Colleen Richard (New Britain), Jessica Somers (Terryville), and John Timmons (Collinsville). Several Tunxis students, alumni and friends also participated.

The book is the second to be published on the annual project, which started in 2008. The finishers’ works were also featured in the spring 2011 exhibition “One Hundred Days: The Online Collaborative” at Hinterland Arts Space in Denver, CO.
