Tunxis Offers EPA-RPP Lead Paint Safety Training

Tunxis Community College will offer a one-day EPA-RRP Lead Paint Safety Training program in Bristol on December 2 and 9.

As of April 2010, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes, child care facilities and schools be certified by EPA and that certified renovators must be trained by EPA-approved training providers to follow lead-safe work practices.

The Tunxis Community College program trains individuals to become certified renovators by taking an eight-hour training course from an EPA-approved training provider. This course  meets all EPA requirements.

Cost of the program is $100. Class size is limited. To register or for more information, please call 860.314.4700, or email Classes will be held at Tunxis@ Bristol, 430 North Main Street, Bristol.
