HobbesClaw3-GovTunxis Community College professor Stephen Klema’s sculpture is on display in the Sculpture Park at the Governor’s Residence.

Klema’s “Hobbes’ Claw 3,” a 4-by-12-foot wood, metal and plastic saw blade interpretation, is one of 25 outdoor sculptures by Connecticut artists that was selected for the outdoor display, which will be available for public viewing. Installed in November, the sculpture will remain on view indefinitely for at least the next year.

A professor and graphic design program coordinator at Tunxis for 26 years, Klema has produced over 50 pieces for exhibition throughout his career, and several of his works are held in private collections. He holds an M.F.A. from University of Hartford’s Hartford Art School and a B.F.A. from Atlanta College of Art.

The Governor’s Residence Sculpture Park at 990 Prospect Ave. in Hartford is open to the public for tours. Reservations must be made in advance.
