Tunxis Early Childhood Center children are shown greeting student veterans at the end of the procession.

Children from the Tunxis Community College Early Childhood Center were joined by others on campus in celebrating Tunxis student veterans with parades in the morning and afternoon on Veterans Day. As one of the parents sang the National Anthem, the children walked across campus carrying flags and photos of veterans to the Veterans’ OASIS where they greeted and thanked student veterans.

Tunxis currently has over 245 veterans on campus, a number that is expected to grow. For more information on how to donate funds for Tunxis veterans, call 860.773.1357. Those who would like more on veterans benefits for education at Tunxis can call 860.773.1423 or email dwelsh@tunxis.edu.

Visit the Tunxis website at tunxis.edu for more on associate degree and certificate programs and the College’s NAEYC-accredited Early Childhood Center. Tunxis is located at the junction of Routes 6 and 177 in Farmington.
