Refunds

Refund Policy

Students wishing to withdraw from the College must either do so online using http://www.my.commnet.edu/, or submit a request in writing to the Registrar. The effective date of withdrawal is the date the request is received by the Registrar. If the request is received on a weekend or a legal holiday, the next business day shall be the effective day.

Summer 2014:

5 Week Session 1: 06/02/14-07/03/14
05/30/14 (F – by 1:30pm): 100% Extension Cr/Tuition Only
5 Week Session 2: 07/07/14-08/07/14
07/03/14 (R – by 4pm): 100% Extension Cr/Tuition Only
8 Week Session: 06/02/14-07/22/14
05/30/14 (F – by 1:30pm): 100% Extension Cr/Tuition Only

Fall 2014:

08/26/14 (T – by 5pm): 100% Tuition Only
09/10/14 (W – by 5pm): 50% Tuition Only

Fall & Spring Session Refunds

If notice of withdrawal is received prior to the first day of classes for the semester (not the first class meeting), 100% of the applicable tuition, studio & lab fees will be refunded for both full- and part-time students. If notice of withdrawal is received during the first fourteen (14) days of the semester, a refund of fifty (50) percent of the applicable tuition, studio & lab fees will be made for both full- and part-time students.

No refund of tuition will be granted beyond the 14th calendar day of the semester. For exceptions refer to the Tunxis College Catalog link below.

All tuition and fees are refunded if a course is canceled and a replacement class is not chosen.

Fees which are non-refundable include but are not limited to:

  • Application Fee
  • College Service Fee
  • Student Activity Fee
  • Installment Payment Plan Fee
  • Late Payment Fee
  • Bad Check Fee
  • Clinical Program Fee

Refunds are processed after the add/drop period is closed. Refunds normally take four weeks to process & are mailed directly from Hartford.

Summer Session Refunds

A full refund of TUITION ONLY will be issued if an official (written) course withdrawal request is received in the Records Office (Registrar) one business day prior to the first scheduled class. NO REFUND will be given after classes have started, except in cases of serious illness or EXTRAORDINARY circumstances. In such cases, a refund (partial or full) may only be given until up to one-third of the classes have taken place, at the discretion of the College.
