The Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra presents an evening of music and poetry of Italian Baroque. The program features the music of Veracini, Pergolesi and Vivaldi performed by the Virtuosi Chamber Players: Jill Maurell-Davis, flute; Adrian Sylveen Mackiewicz, violin and harpsichord; Brunilda Myftaraj, violin; Arron Packard, viola; and Kathleen Schiano, cello.
A professional orchestra based in the Greater New Britain area, the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra presents about 25 regular and educational performances each year throughout Connecticut and New York. The concert is free and open to the public.
“Flashpoint”, a 20-minute DVD about dealing with disturbing behaviors on campus, will be shown on Wednesday, September 30th at noon with a discussion to follow. Tunxis holds an annual event in honor of Constitution Day. This year, Attorney Richard Voigt, a partner in the Hartford law firm of McCarter and English, will be discussing religious liberty and the Constitution. Dr. Rafaele Fierro, Professor Bob Brown, and Dr. Fran Coan will add commentary. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.Read More
Spring Fling will be held next Tuesday, May 5th, from 10am-6pm (weather permitting). The rain date is Thursday, May 7th. Some of the features of this year’s event will include inflatable amusement rides, a rock climbing wall, an all-you-can eat fried dough trailer, student club table exhibits, a cookout, Carvel ice cream sundaes, a live band, and karaoke.
