Commencement 2021

Given the current state of the pandemic, and the future unpredictability of the health crisis, it was decided that this year’s celebrations will include both a virtual and limited in-person activity on our campus. Please feel free to contribute to and/or attend both days.
On May 26 a virtual commencement web page will be presented with remarks from our Program Coordinators, CEO, Valedictorian, and Salutatorian, as well as a video presentation of each conferee’s degrees and certificates.
On May 27 (rain date May 28) Tunxis will hold an in-person conferral on campus in regalia, with the opportunity to have a professional photo taken. Limited guests will be allowed. Please check your email and social media for more details, as graduates will be scheduled in time slots. Faculty and staff will be invited to participate and congratulate graduates.
The in-person diploma pick-up event will allow a limited number of participants on campus throughout the day and will adhere to CDC and CT DPH guidelines outlined in our spring 2021 reopening plans.
If you have applied for graduation and received an email that you are eligible to graduate, graduates are welcome to submit photos for the online portion of commencement.
Photos – Class of 2021 graduates were sent an email in April that included a link to submit photos for the virtual portion of our ceremony.
Cap and Gown – Students can pick up their cap and gown now through graduation during bookstore hours. No appointment is necessary. Enter the College through the main entrance (by the flagpole), wear a mask, and inform security they are picking up cap and gown at the bookstore.

Tunxis Community College offers two conferral dates. The conferral date pertains to the date students will have met all program requirements for their degree/certificate.
