No. Graduates will be informed by email when and where to report for line-up.
Graduates will line up according to program. Degree and certificate recipients line-up separately. If a graduate is receiving a degree and a certificate or two degrees and/or certificates, they are to line up with the first-degree program alphabetically. Upon presentation of the graduates, all programs are announced.
Commencement is approximately 1.5 hours long. The ceremony starts promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Welte garage or the Student Center garage.
There is a limit of 4 guests per graduate. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
Graduates can pick up their cap and gown at the Tunxis Bookstore beginning in May (measurements are not necessary). There is no fee. For Bookstore hours, call 860.773.1338.
The cap is placed squarely on the top of your head (not the back) and the tassel is placed to the RIGHT side of the cap.
Your name will appear in alphabetical order first by degree, then program, then by name. Degree recipients appear first followed by certificate recipients.
Tunxis has arranged with Island Photography to take a picture of each graduating student on stage as he or she is handed their diploma cover and/or as they exit the stage. Proof(s) will be e/mailed. There is no obligation to order and proof(s) are yours to keep. For safety precautions, we ask family and friends not to stand in aisles to take pictures during commencement exercises. Aisles will be monitored.
For those attending, graduates will receive their diploma(s) on stage. If you are unable to attend commencement, graduates may pick up their diploma(s) at the Records Office with a photo ID the day after the ceremony during our regular business hours. Diplomas are not mailed, they must be picked up.
