“Recent Works” by Brian Owens, a collection of sand art in epoxy resin and soft pastels, will be on view March 1-29 in the Wallace Barnes and Barbara Hackman Franklin Art Gallery. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, Owens returned to Connecticut to work as a mechanical design engineer, but recently left to devote himself full-time to perfecting his art. Owens grew up in Simsbury and currently resides in West Hartford. An opening reception with refreshments will be held March 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. Located at the entrance to the 600 Building, the Barnes-Franklin Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. For more information, email [email protected].
