Learn how to write clear, concise action-oriented messages for work. Participants will use actual memos, proposals, project reports, white papers, email and other job-related documents in class. Mike Jordan-Reilly will conduct the half-day workshop. He has 30 years of corporate communication and journalism experience. Fee: $85.

Find out and practice what it takes to excel at motivating employees, strengthen interactions with colleagues and deliver outstanding results that help meet your organization’s goals. The instructor, Donna Ciarfella, brings more than 25 years of experience as a leader in workforce development and human resources management for the public, not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. She helps leaders become more effective at their jobs and better able to meet organizational goals. Fee: $85.

Bringing Mindfulness to Work,” June 14, 9 a.m-2:30 p.m. 

Learn how to live in the present moment and use new ways to work with challenges and difficult situations while managing your stress. Greater calmness can help you focus and think more clearly in all aspects of your life. The workshop covers present moment awareness, mindful communication, stress management, mindful meditation, the body scan, mindful eating and handling strong emotions.

Sharon Gutterman, Ph.D., teaches mindfulness practices to health care professionals, educators and business people. She is an acclaimed presenter, both nationally and internationally, on helping people use mindfulness strategies to manage stress and cultivate health, balance and energy. Her teaching is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., author and founding executive director of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Fee: $85.
