Tunxis professor Mark Milewski will share his personal account of climbing Mount Everest at Northwestern Connecticut Community College’s “Everest: Two Perspectives” on October 3, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Founders Hall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Milewski summited Mount Everest in a 50-day expedition during a leave of absence from Tunxis in 2016. Everest is his fifth of the seven summits, the highest peaks on each of the seven continents. He previously climbed to the summits of Mount Elbrus, Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount McKinley, and Mount Aconcagua.

An assistant professor of Business Administration, Milewski joined Tunxis in 2010, where he teaches courses in management, business, ethics, entrepreneurship, and a business capstone. He uses much of what he has learned in climbing mountains in his courses which he relates to business, including teamwork and goal attainment. Milewski resides in Manchester.
