Veterans in Gov. house webVeterans from the Tunxis Community College student Veterans Club received a private tour of the Governor’s Residence decorated for the holiday season on December 4, prior to the start of its annual open house.

First Lady Cathy Malloy (center) greeted the group of Tunxis veterans, which included (L to R, front): Amanda Searle, Doreen Melendez, Tunxis Veterans’ mentor Karen DeBari, Peter Spano, Corina Scagliola, (back row) Will Shuff, John Rios, Tunxis Veterans’ Advisor David Welsh, Tracey Melanson, Marc Melanson, and David D’Agostino.

The 1909 Colonial Revival home, located at 990 Prospect Avenue in Hartford, had four decorated Christmas trees on display with a number of other donated decorations.

Students in the TCC Veterans Club group are among over 245 veterans on campus at Tunxis Community College.
