Tunxis Community College will hold a Saturday virtual online registration event on August 15 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for new and continuing students to get help with advising, course registration, and financial aid for fall semester.

Classes at Tunxis start on August 26, with a mix of on-campus, online and hybrid course options that are a mix of online and on-campus.  

Prior to the event, prospective students who have not yet applied for admission should apply online, fill out an online placement form, and make a virtual advising appointment.They should also upload required documents and unofficial college transcripts using the college’s application portal. For more details, visit tunxis.edu/supersat. Those who are not able to attend the Saturday session can find a link on the web page to schedule appointments at other times. 

The college successfully filed its Phase 3 reopening plans with the Department of Public Health recently. These plans incorporate a range of measures to protect students and employees, including required face masks, a virtual sign-in process that provides contact tracing, and enhanced cleaning routines and sanitizing throughout the day according to CDC guidelines. The plan also includes occupancy limits, moving of furniture and signage to enable social distancing, installation of plexiglass shields on desks and counters in classrooms, and contactless payment options for various services on campus. The college will remain closed to the general public until further notice.  

From advanced manufacturing, paralegal studies, data science, and engineering to business and psychology programs, Tunxis offers more than 70 associate degrees and certificates, providing critical thinking and problem-solving skills that prepare students for transfer to bachelor’s degree programs and employment in areas with industry need. The college offers seamless transfer pathways through its Guaranteed Admission program with UConn and Tunxis Transfer Ticket associate degrees that provide seamless transfer and a low-cost pathway to a bachelor’s degree at the Connecticut State Universities and Charter Oak State College.
