Tunxis is the only Associate’s Degree in Connecticut to earn accreditation by the Associate Degree Board of Commissioners of the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Internationally, only 190 two-year colleges have achieved this accreditation for their business programs.

Transfer Opportunities

Graduate from Tunxis’ BA Transfer Articulation Pathway and move seamlessly to a Connecticut State University (CCSU, ECSU, SCSU, WCSU and Charter Oak). Or enroll in the BA Degree to transfer to the UConn Regional Campuses’ School of Business or a private institution, such as the University of St. Joseph, Quinnipiac University, University of Hartford, and Post University.

Business Career Certificates

Tunxis offers certificate programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, and Marketing. All courses in a certificate program apply towards an associate’s degree, and students increase their marketability by combining a Business Administration degree with a specialized certificate.

Certificate in Accounting – (Course Information)

Accounting is the official “language of business”. Studying and mastering accounting will open doors to any business within any industry. According to the Connecticut Society of CPAs, the job growth in accounting will be 18% in the next 8 years because of the large amount of baby boomers that will be retiring in the field of accounting; this is more job growth than any other field. The American Accounting Association web site provides additional information on potential careers.

Marketing is an essential business function that allows an organization to plan, develop, promote and deliver products and services to its customers.
