Theater Studies

Theater is a wide-ranging field that includes set design and construction, lighting design, costume design and construction, and make-up, in addition to the obvious core of acting and directing. Majors in the field are open to job opportunities in many areas, such as education, product marketing, public events, and advertising, in addition to stage and film.


English Studies

Tunxis Community College’s Transfer and Articulation Program in English Studies is designed for the student whose goal is to complete a bachelor of arts degree in English at one of the regional state public universities, such as CCSU and Charter Oak.  Students are assured transfer of 60 credits and junior status at the receiving institution. Students in pursuit of this degree are encouraged to participate in the Theater, Philosophy, and Tunxis Sun clubs. Students who wish to pursue English Studies outside of the CSCU system are encouraged to enroll in the Liberal Arts and Sciences degree.


Liberal Arts and Sciences (A.S.) Degree

Provides a comprehensive two-year undergraduate education designed to meet the needs of those who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in an area of liberal arts and sciences, or who wish to explore an area of intellectual interest.
